Hi, I'm Jamie and I can think of the best case scenario...or the worst. I can be grateful for the small things in life...or I can complain about everything. I sometimes wake up happy...or I wake up feeling unexcited.

Relate? Continue reading.

Even though I tend to think negatively, I always try to overcome it. But I can feel overwhelmed or unsuccessful at times. Don't get me wrong, it's difficult and easier said than done. You have to be willing to change your thought process in order to move forward.

I'm going to share with you what helps me get through my fears, frustrations, or any doubts I may have. Remember that life is short and in 60 years from now you won't even remember what you were worried or anxious about half the time. You'll probably wish you didn't overthink so much because it stopped you from enjoying life to the fullest. As Drake once said....YOLO.

It's ok to think negative sometimes; we're human and no one is 100% perfect but there are small things you can do each day that'll help you feel more at peace with your being and circumstances. This is no way the be all and end all. These are just a few strategies that help clear my mind and relax me. Start with a few each day and find what works best for you. You hold the power of your own mind, use that power for good!

1. Think of 3 things you're grateful for TODAY

2. Do one thing that you love or that makes you feel good

3. Eat a whole healthy meal

4. Get a good nights rest (it really is important)

5. Have a positive morning routine

6. Add a workout in your day (even if it's a 10 minute walk outside, those are the best!)

7. Surround yourself with mindful people

8. Catch yourself when you start complaining and STOP

9. Live in the present moment, not the past or the future

10. Speak kindly to yourself as you would to others

11. Remember that nothing is forever...time will heal

12. Acknowledge that you're in control of your thoughts, no one else is

13. Drink lots of water (I'm serious!)

14. Write in a journal something that happened to you today that made you smile

15. Think "I get to do it" NOT "I have to do it"

Simply,

Jamie Lyn
